It doesn’t get much better than a smiling elephant swimming underwater. Photographer Claudia Legge captured these shots of a lifetime while on a trip to India. If you’re in London, you can see these wonderful prints in person at Sheridan & Co.
Up-Close and Personal With an Elephant Underwater

There is a new series on my website, with the simple title Circus:
spelaskulj.net/photography/circus
The photos were made in Omsk Circus in November 2011 at the time when Circus of the Shatirov Brothers was in town.
And below the shiny surface of the circus, I found a very quiet and not at all glamorous environment.
It was on a Sunday that the Maoist held a strike all over Nepal, where until 5pm people were not allowed to work in their shops or restaurants or other works. The buses were not running. The city of Hetauda, which is a desolated place anyway, was totally empty. It reminded me of the hot summer days of my childhood in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. In Hetauda, people were just sitting around doing nothing or strolling around the city.
It was a hot day, not even summer yet.
Recorded in Hetauda, Nepal. April 2013.
